- I just got this for the first time last night as I was exiting and saving. So no chance to save the save. I was doing the unlucky chef scenario and he had just gotten a raise and achieved some things for his aspiration. I'll hit me too as well.

This is why I always do a "Save As" before exiting, and then exit without saving. I had the same thing happen to me back in the TS3 era a few times, so now I just do not trust "Save and Exit" buttons in Sims games.
As for this thread, I've now had save issues similiar to this in my game 3 times since the last patch. Not error code 0 for me though, but rather some weird hexadecimal string code.- Everyone with this bug, please consider taking the time to send in your saves to help EA fix it <3
SimQARobo says in the thread:
Could you share with me your entire \Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\saves\ folder?
Instructions on how to share files are here:

So I’m avoiding that. I’ve been doing a “Save As” before I plan a wedding event just in case it bugs out through the planning & waiting process.
Since I play rotationally, I regularly “Save As”, anyway. Once a week, when I switch to the next household I do it. I use a naming convention like “MaxisTeens A1”, “MaxisTeens A2”, etc and I’m almost to the J round now. So it’s easy to find a certain point in time if I ever need to go back. Every once in a while I go back and delete all but 1 save from each round. - I've never saved during a wedding...I never save 'in the middle' of any kind of event. Not for any reason other than, If I do need to reload the game I'm going to want to do it from a point that seems like a natural starting point.
All of my save errors so far have happened just when saving at home before sending my sims to bed. - manzana08074 years agoSeasoned Ace

I wonder how many people have tried to save and exit or save and exit to the main menu that have gotten error code 0? Never, ever trust "Save and Exit" is my motto in Sims games and never trust an auto-save in a Bethesda game. - PaNDiee4 years agoRising AceI have this problem aswell... I clicked on me too on EA hq.. Dont know what is triggering this error :/

I don't use the 'save and exit', either. I save, and then exit. I used to do the 'Save As' at the top of each gaming session. This helps me to realize by the date and time, should I need to roll back, which one to select. Lately, I've had to do a save recovery and I'm wondering if that mechanic is essentially compromised. I just know that I can't seem to get close to the date of the Wedding that's planned and it's frustrating me. I have gotten the error code:0 no matter which method I use, sadly. Apparently, as reported by another player, there are 17 pages worth of this problem. Hopefully, this will soon be addressed. I'm almost afraid to play my game at this point. - GalacticGal4 years agoLegend

I don't think we're able to save during events. Seems to me I have tried, but was told you can't save during a birthday when the Sim is aging up. Or words to that effect. I should think it would be the same for other 'life'-altering events. I could be wrong on that. - GalacticGal4 years agoLegend

I have yet to have a Wedding since the MWS came out. I'm just trying to get there. LOL My target couple met, randomly, fell in love instantly and then it was a matter of getting them to YAs. The moment both of them aged up, (he's a couple of days older than she) I had him take her out to a fancy restaurant to propose. She was fighting allergies that evening, but she insisted on staying despite his effort to have her let him take her home. I, too, do the 'Save As' each gaming session with the surname-Number, so I can know where to roll back should everything go so completely wrong that it needs to be 'rewritten' so to speak. Not being able to do just a simple save in between, is vexing. I've done the save recovery thing and that allowed me to roll back to the day of the Engagement Dinner to try again, using better knowledge on how it's supposed to work. Now, I've got the pictures I needed for the story. :) But, now it doesn't want to do just a save. It throws the Code:0 at me. Gr. I was contemplating doing a game repair, but others said once the planned Event is over, it goes back to saving normally. EA, all I can say is GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER. Please. This is my only outlet for relaxation. Watching TV is far too passive, I need to keep my brain active. :) Thank you.
