Hey guys,
So as you know a lot of the very big EA Gamechangers (Plumbella and so on) have decided not to cover the new pack and not post reviews, let's plays etc.
Now, you don't have to agree with them and you can openly express disagreement with their decision but I have seen a lot of comments in the forums saying that the Gamechangers are withholding content from people or that this is some kind of blackmail towards viewers and even that they should be kicked off the program.
I understand your frustration but
First, the content they create is free for all viewers and they had neither promised the content nor had we paid them in advance to make content for this pack. As far as I understand most of us watch their content for free, knowing that they will post whatever they feel like posting. They do not owe you anything. They are allowed to create any type of content they want and it is 100% their property, not the viewers'.
Then, people are mentioning that since they are getting the pack for free then they are obligated to make content for it. That could be true but we don't know the exact circumstances. Unless you have read their contracts with EA you cannot know what responsibilities they have to fulfill so my tip for you is to stay out of it. This is between them and EA and we as bystanders don't have any knowledge to be making accusations.
Finally, some people's behavior in this forum is unbelievable. You cannot go around public forums calling people hypocrites, accusing them of blackmailing you or saying they should be kicked off the Gamechangers program. That is neither constructive nor a decision you have the power to make.
So, while we all have the right to express our opinion it is very important to remember that we have no right to be telling creators what to do and how to act especially when we get their content for free and they have no obligation towards us.
I think the issue people have is that they get the game for free to promote it and talk about. That is their job and technically they are refusing to do their job (if it was any other job, you can be fired for refusing to do so). People wouldn't care so much if they had to pay for the game themselves like everyone else.
I say if people really want to do be political, do it on their own time. That goes for all jobs and businesses as there is a time and place for everything.
