I think its fine for gamechangers to stand by what they believe in and make their own decisions whether to review the packs or not. I just wish they had the same view when it came to the Japanese and the Snowy Escape controversies. I really think that was unfair to the Japanese and all players since it was an optional action. Though I do know there are mods that allow it to return in game. I really dislike it when EA takes sides and cuts content for some, especially when they make it optional and promote they are "inclusive".
To be fair this was more an a extreme case.Where a whole country excluded. - DaWaterRat4 years agoSeasoned AceI will not be disappointed in Game Changers choosing either to showcase Wedding Stories or to not showcase it because of the current controversy. Each Game Changer needs to make their own call on what is the "right" option for them, and no one in their audience (or worse, not actually a part of their audience) can - or should - demand that they make that decision to one side or the other.

I won't blame the ones who do show the pack.Because they need money too - XxAirixX4 years agoSeasoned AceI am not that worried about game changers as I don't follow them to begin with. I do what to know everything about the pack before buying it. I already planned to get it even before it was officially announced.
- Maybe it's selfish but I really hope some will still do it. We saw quite literally nothing from the live so I'd like to see more of the pack before buying it
- breezy95924 years agoSeasoned AceIt'll be more of a surprise that way...so even if they don't go on...I'm still getting it.

Oh okay, so first the Sims team decides to start composing political statement letters and withhold the new game from Russian fans, and now the GC's who attacked their decision demanding Russians be able to access the new content, have decided to start composing political statement tweets of their own and withhold their own video content of the game from ALL of their fans across the whole world.
There is only so much hypocrisy I can handle with my morning tea. Any GC who withholds the new wedding game reviews from me while composing mini political letters in tweet form is getting an unsubscribe. They're like Mini-EA's. I will not be used as some kind of political pawn to pressure the Sims team into releasing the game to Russia. They should be kicked out of the program. What is this some kind of YouTuber blackmail?
I guess now will be a good time for me to find some new up and coming GC's. I'm looking for GC's who support Russian players by continuing to express their opinions, talk about the issue, hold debates, share information, create petitions, highlight Russian voices, and don't withhold media content of their own like hypocrites.
We are not pressuring EA to release the game. We are asking for additional information because the EA statement does not add up to just following the laws in Russia.
Hasn't that already been clarified? I've seen quite a few people explain that the Russian law means that any content IN the game is fine as it's rated 18+, however they can't show it on the cover because under 18's can see that.
It's the same as how games in the west can't show explicit content on the cover, but they can show it freely in the game with an 18 rating (ie for a game like GTA you would never see a topless woman on box art, but that content is allowed in the game because of the 18+ rating). Obviously not saying LGBT content is equal to nudity/sexual content but that's how Russian law regards it- breezy95924 years agoSeasoned Aceif they changed the cover then it could sell it there because of the law in Russian.

@Elliandre I don't think it's fair of you to call people hypocrites online. I also don't think it's fair of you to think that content these people create belongs to you in any way shape or form. Nobody is withholding anything that belongs to you and nobody is blackmailing you.
Let's get one thing straight. The content GCs create is their own property and they don't owe anyone anything.
If you had paid for any content they had promised to deliver then you would have a right to speak about what content they make. As long as you are getting stuff for free then you don't have a right to demand anything from anyone and you don't have the right to bash people online and ask for them to lose their places in the program. - lemonnella4 years agoSeasoned AceI sort of agree with the with Elliandre above. I’m not unsubscribing from anyone, but I feel like if Game Changers are getting early access to the game for free, which is for review purposes, then they should review it. I’m not jumping up and down about the fact that they still get the game for free and will still get to play it when they aren’t upholding their part in the program by showcasing and reviewing the content. Then they’re no different from those of us that are paying for the pack. Just my opinion though.
I have a much empathy towards the current situation, and I think standing up for Russian players and our community is great, but I just wish Game Changers wouldn’t withhold their reviews and showcases just to prove a point to EA.
