Gay Parent Options.

I am playing with a single female. She is outgoing and throws a bunch of parties. I had no intention of her being in any relationship at this point. Alas, she had other thoughts. I found her flirting with another female. They are so cute together and I went with it. My problem being later I really want her to pass her genetics off. I'm not much for cheating....so.

I really wish there was an option for artificial insemination....or surrogacy for male gay partners.

  • I loved the "pregnancy for everyone" mod in TS2. I liked for Pascal Curious and Nervous Subject to be able to have biological children together; love those genes! There was also a way to do it using the Tombstone of Life and Death, which was an in-game cheat thing. I understand that not everyone feels comfortable with mods, but in this case it's the only option I can think of; I'm not aware of any in-game way to do it.
  • So, I came to this late, I usually do. I'm not much on commenting but this one is near and dear to me. I agree that EA has a lot of issues surrounding their sims games now. They don't seem to get the whole picture and that the LGBT community does not rely on adoption for their children any longer. Lesbians opt for IVF or inseminations, Guys opt for sarrogacy, some do still opt to adopt, giving an unwanted or orphaned child a home. Any of these is good and if you don't want to use cheats you will have to go with either her woo hooing with some guy, or adoption. Even changing her partner to male is cheating. Good luck with it though and for the record I use babies for everyone because I think it is really cute to watch them have their own children too.

There is no need to change the partner.

Two females can have genetic children in Manage Households.

I did finally see that, and I did finally do that. I really wanted to experience the pregnancy though. Maybe one day EA will have an option for this later on. Either insemination or surrogacy for males.

    Thanks for the input. :)
  • If you go into Manage Households, edit the desired family, click add a sim through the genetic mod, you can have two men or two women be the parents, I've done this a few times now.
  • I didn't realise you could do this with same sex couples!
Being part of one myself, I think this is really cool :)

I have these issues all the time (and I know I'm VERY late to this) considering I'm in a same-sex relationship and I want these issues fixed in some way. A bit ago, EA came out with a game update for The Sims 4 where you can change your sims gender roles and if they can get pregnant and such. I use this a lot so my sims can have genetic children and still go through the pregnancy. The only problem I have is in The Sims 3 because I don't have Into the Future and I don't use mods. I could use genetics, but that gets me a toddler at the most. The only other option is woohooing a girl sim, but I'm pretty sure sims get jealous and such in TS3. To me it looks like the options now are:

    TS4:
-Change gender options for your sims
    _Adoption (if you wanted)
    -Play with genetics in CAS
    -WooHoo another person

    TS3 and below:
    -Woohooing another person
    -Adoption
    -Genetics in CAS

*This is probably the message that keeps this thread alive, but who knows...*
  • Hi @Wolfee and welcome to teh forums  !

Thank you very much for your input on this.

However, this thread is more than 3 years old and for that reason I will be closing it.

    Thanks,
