Get a job you lazy stupid Sim oh it's interactable cool.

I have enjoyed most playing detective career. I have played with two sims (neither are at the top this point) and with both I really felt like I got to bring out their character at work. For example the second sim always likes to take guitar playing breaks when patroling.

Scientist I think I've played once but also gotten the furthest in. It been okay but I've just had more fun with being a detective.

The doctor career is my least favourite. I haven't made it very far in the career but I just don't like it from what I've tried. It makes me feel like my sim is under a constant work overload and I also dislike the hospital layout. Maybe with a sim with super powers like vampiric run on purchased reward traits it would feel more doable.
