As with so many things, I'm coming very late to this party. I focused on the mod that gave my Sim a chance to be a singer, instead. I thought about having him move into the Entertainment field hoping he would be eligible for a Starlight Accolade, but instead, since he got his BA in Fine Arts (notice the s that is spectacularly missing in the game has been 'returned' ;) ), I would put him into the Acting Career, instead. What I have noticed is that if I have him fulfill his acting tasks for the gig, if I should foolishly allow him to go to another lot for whatever reason, when I check on it again, it shows he still needs to fulfill the tasks. Face/palm. I was able to have him complete his 'homework' before he had to go to the gig, so all was well. But, I have to say, I don't like it that he has to be lot-bound, to keep from having to go through it all again. Thankfully, with the Road to Fame mod, I can send him to Away Concerts, or to the studio to cut an album, which in both cases keeps him on the lot, much like Daycare for the toddlers. So, he doesn't lose the work tasks he's already completed. But, that doesn't give him much of a life, so to speak.It's stifling my normal gameplay. Is this a bug, known or otherwise? Is there a workaround for it?Please, and thank you, in advance.

This recently started happening to me too and now my actress sim is getting silver for all her gigs because every time I’m at a gig, I have to start her prep tasks all over again and I’m so annoyed. I hope they fix this soon because all I do is play sims in the acting career.

The bug covered by this thread is that the acting Prep Tasks get reset whenever the sim travels.I just ran a test using Judith Ward on a brand-new save. Got her a gig with prep tasks for acting and fitness. Performed two Musical scenes to complete the acting prep. Traveled to the gym and noted that her acting prep was still checked off. Did the fitness prep by working out on the weight machine. Came home and noted that both prep tasks were still complete. Continued playing, including more travel, until her gig started at noon on Tuesday. Joined her at the gig and noted that both prep tasks were still complete.Did her warmup activities, told the director she was ready, and performed the gig. Got gold.Conclusion: There is no sign that this bug has returned. Judith had two prep tasks and they both remained Complete despite traveling several times after finishing them.

This is such an issue for me :'( I absolutely love this pack but my tasks get wiped every time I travel, including going to work.

You know what? I just had this happen in a non-acting situation. It was Skill Day. I worked hard to make sure all five of my active Sims (in uni) got their check-mark to show they had completed the 'holiday'. Yet, when they all had done such, they were hungry, so I sent them down to the Commons. Sure enough, at least two of them lost their check-marks. I was angry, to say the least. I play this game to help me relax, not to make me upset. Oi! I tried to have the two work on a skill, but they flat out ran out of time. Face/palm. I think this is a fundamental flaw in the system.

@GalacticGal I'm having a similar problem. If I have my sim in the acting career and fulfill the prep for their gig when they go to said gig I have to do it all over again, the same thing happens for Skill Day as well. Normally I can get it done again but sometimes I can't like if it's more than two tasks that you have to get done. I wish they would fix it since it was working fine(ish) before the last two updates.

Yeah, I've had this happen too, tho thankfully not as consistently with the acting career tasks, which is still a problem. As for the acting career bug (which, UGH, PLEASE JUST FIX IT ALREADY), I've been using a mod that gives a little boost to the at work tasks, so you can still get gold even without the at home preparations. With more advanced sims, if I'm in the mood for a challenge, and if the sim is famous enough to get the perk that lets you skip hair and makeup, I'll try to complete the at home tasks ON THE ACTING STUDIO LOT. It's tough, but possible, and can be fun if you go into it knowing what to expect. But yeah, this one is a HUGE BUMMER, cause I actually quite enjoyed the acting career as it was and now it's kinda permanently broken :/

Wow, I never noticed that my actor lost all of his prep work when he traveled to the lot! That is a huge malfunction. Have you tried repair game?

That bug has been fixed by the Apr 7 patch. Unfortunately, a new bug has taken its place. See the thread at EA Answers for more information about the new bug.
