Get Famous but without gameplay - possible?

I don't know about mods, but I do know that you can have your played sims "out of the spotlight" by default (it's under the gameplay tab once you install Get Famous.) If you're just running vanilla, I think you're still stuck with the reputation and the NPC celebs (potentially) ruining your nights out.

You will love the gameplay in GF, especially the social media production.

@alanmichael1 I highly doubt it ;-) I play a storyline where celebrities and the associated behaviours would just not fit in, and I really don't want it.

If you've read any of my posts about my Global Superstar you should be apprised that most of what goes on in my game is due to Road to Fame, and not Get Famous. Without RTF, the game is rather tame, to me. I found I really like the drama it creates. But, if you don't want the EP, that's certainly your choice. I won't try to persuade you. I never did purchase the EP for Supernaturals in Sims3, nor have I bought Vampires for Sims4. We each have our own tastes and game play styles. Do what suits you.

And well, I'd have to have a look at how it really is. But I don't want any of my sims a) become famous and b) least of all, I want people to swoon when they see a celeb. It seems so silly and rather annoying to me.

Yes, but you yourself ever come into contact with someone famous or at least someone successful enough to have cut an album? I have and to my chagrin, I went all squishy inside. I can't imagine how I'd be were I to meet a real full-blown celebrity. I'd probably pass out.

@Rhiannon1307 I also dislike sims swooning over celebrities everywhere my sims go. I use LittleMsSam's "Gender and more custom lot trait" to ban all celebrities, fans and paparazzi from any lot where I don't want them showing up and being a distraction. This is a really useful mod lot trait that lets you set all sorts of restrictions about who can and can't spawn on that lot. So in addition to keeping the superstars away, you can also use it to customize other types of lots, like a women's club, or a kids only play area etc. It's extremely effective. You can still travel there with you own sims regardless of the restrictions (so if you are playing a celebrity you can still send them to a "no celebrities" lot), but the game can't send any type of NPC sim you banned there.

Like others have mentioned, there are settings to avoid getting Fame for your sims. Also, allegedly, according to one of the latest patches, celebrities should be showing up at lots outside of DSV less frequently.

@GalacticGal Oh I have, lol. And yeah, meeting any of them would have been swoon-inducing. But in my game, I don't want it to happen randomly, or my sims being distracted by it or my story progression somehow affected by it.
