I played the acting career recently, and I noticed the sets were becoming fancier over time. I don't think it's necessarily tied to career level but whether if your Sim is doing a movie, daytime/primetime television, or commercial.
It wasn't the sets but the actor's dressing room what I noticed was open. I couldn't remember if it was open when they started out as I just concentrated on achievements. Only had them get hair/makeup then into costume then right to set. Now they are "almost" a star I took more time and thats when I noticed the open "fancy" dressing room.
