Pretty much. I mean... I got my Sim maxed in the acting career pretty fast and it's just boring and repetitive - even more than the other active careers. The fame system doesn't add anything to my game either, honestly... I don't need more money, and my Sims don't go out much... just no point to it (I suppose it's a bit more realistic that celebrity chefs or painters DO get famous though).
Honestly I haven't bothered playing again in days to actually get the master actress aspiration done (because it means more grinding acting jobs to max her fame, and I can't be bothered with that right now). And once it's done, I'll have nothing to look forward to in game anyway.
To be completely fair - Seasons it the only EP I actually really use (mostly for Holidays and enjoying the different seasons). I got bored with pets because they are so limited and don't interact enough with my Sims, I'm not interested in clubs, festivals, or apartments. I'm more into legacy/family play, and that's really the content we're lacking right now (with only one GP really devoted to that, and neglected teens - teens is a LONG LIFESTAGE too).
