My advice: Buy Get Together.
I love the town of Windenburg. To me Windenburg is the perfect place for families. There are pubs for the dads to hang out and get some "family free time" when needed, there are cafés for the mums to do the same, and a big hedge maze for the kids to enjoy. I even turned a tavern and the library into family homes so more Sims can enjoy the beautiful town. Currently I don't have one lot unoccupied there. The EP also adds interesting Sims to the game your Sims can get married to (females: Sofia Bjergsen, Elsa Bjergsen, Luna Villareal, Jade Rosa; males: Wolfgang Munch, Lucas Munch, Paolo Rocca, Joaqin Le Chien, Marcus Flex).
