Ghosts! What reward traits do you give them?

I don't play ghosts myself, but I would think they would benefit the same from reward traits as the living. For a ghost, however, regular physical needs seem to me irrelevant. I would probably give traits to combat hygiene, bladder and hunger. For my vampires who are supposed to be pristinely preserved undead immortals, I only leave the social need untouched along with the mandatory thirst.

Other useful traits for Summer Holliday could be green thumbs since she gardens (your picture in the other thread), speed cleaner and gym rat - I know she's an active sim unless you re-traited her. Great storytellers give other sims a nice moodlet when telling stories (and ghost stories?).

Aww, those are good suggestions! I just started the botanist aspiration with her, because I figured she would need something to do and a way to gain more reward points (she has only 8k at the moment and collecting more will give me something to do with her). Super green thumb would be a sweet trait for her. And yes she is still active and loves morning jogs even if she is just floating around :D

I want to leave Summer's energy need untouch since she is a murphy bed ghost and possesing other sims gives her energy. She also looks cute napping on a couch. It seems that being a ghost has made her a bit mischievous, though. She likes to go and posses things to break them, but at least her daughter learns handiness faster by fixing the broken items.

I've been thinking among similar lines about ghost traits. I would consider what the needs add to the gameplay. Going to the toilet adds nothing, so I would surely get steel bladder. Going to the shower/bath can give moodlet buffs, reduce stress and increase singing skill. Are any of those important to Summer? Eating can give happy moodlet and cooking may be a nice hobby for a sim. It could be bitter sweet to be an excellent chef and not wanting to eat anything. Green thumb will make gardening easier, but do you want it to be easy or rather a bit of challenge? I also thought that ghosts could progress slowly getting these traits, like first they act like any other sim, but then gradually forget things that don't matter to them, moving up to a higher ghost tier sort of.

Ooh I'm glad you said that about the progress because I had started to think similarly about it! I thought that perhaps the needs present the ghost's idea of what they used to need when they were alive, though they don't really need some of those things anymore, and it takes them time to learn what it is like to be a ghost.

Summer likes to cook (she has 10 in cooking and about 4 in gourmet cooking) and she often cooks for her daughter (who can barely cook), but yeah, it must be sad not to be able to taste the food anymore.

She jogs a lot and it feels a bit funny to make her take a bath, but maybe she is just very used to the idea that after jogging she would stink, so I think I'll first get steel bladder and then perhaps hardly hungry... because she might still want to try to eat, just out of habit. Though I don't know should I go for forever full right away. She could still have a bite at times. I'll have to think about it.

Also, she is already very good at gardening (maxed the skill), but I don't know how hard it is to get the plants to max level. Her best plants are excellent (3/5) at the moment. Fertilising them with grow fruits has helped a lot.

It's funny how ghosts are solid beings, but not. They can go through walls and objects, yet somehow not fall through stuff they sit or lie on. It's also funny how vampires breathe and can get a common cold or flu.

Unfortunately, there isn't much gameplay revolving around ghosts in Sims 4. In Sims 3, they could at least have ghost kids.

Yeah :D I guess both of them like to pretend they are still alive, though vampires getting sick sounds really strange.

I enjoy scaring and possessing sims and items with Summer. It makes her a bit more special. I was a little bit bored with her earlier, so this is just what she needed. Yet, of course it would be cool to have more to do. I planned that she could help her daughter if/when she has children and kind of just hang around as a matriarch of the family. Hopefully for decades! (Poor Summer forever a nanny :p )

It seems that rain does not affect ghosts which is good. I hope they won't be scared of thunder either.

What happens if a ghost's needs run out? Do they die and become a ghost?
I mean, WTH?

I suppose they just become increasingly furious, and then you end up with ghosts angry pooping in your bathroom, and what a nightmare THAT would be.

I have honestly never thought of this. I just started playing with ghosts also. Seems like a great idea! I think which ones to get might depend on what the individual player most thinks ghosts shouldn't have to deal with.
