Ghosts! What reward traits do you give them?

I'm just starting to play a ghost sim and I would like to give her some reward traits, but not too many, because having all her needs full all the time would most likely be boring.

I have considered giving her Forever Fresh, Forever Full and Steel Bladder, because I figured it would make sense that a ghost would not need to worry about those issues. However, I wonder whether that is too much and should I consider the lighter versions of those traits, such as Hardly Hungry and Antiseptic.

So, what reward traits (if any) do you give to your ghost sims?

  • When unsure about ghosts, who you gonna call?

  • Personally I say it depends on the ghost (although you could let them use the bathroom and just say it's ectoplasm or something)
Starved? Can get hungry, but can't get dirty
Drowned, poisoned, froze, or old age? Can't get hungry nor dirty
Heat related (fire, sunlight, or overheating)? Can get dirty, but not hungry (burned sims tend to shower alot)
Emotions? I would say angry and embarrassed can get dirty (think of them needing to cool off)
Overexertion? Can get dirty and hungry
Shocked? Can't get dirty or hungry (in fact they should be hydrophobic in fear of being easier to be zapped)

It's funny how ghosts are solid beings, but not. They can go through walls and objects, yet somehow not fall through stuff they sit or lie on. It's also funny how vampires breathe and can get a common cold or flu.

Don't forget about being able to woohoo with a ghost there's even an achievement for it
Also I always figured vampires breathing was so they can talk along with it being a force of habit. As for getting sick...I dunno they're dead it shouldn't bother them
  • @Vampris Those are cool ideas! I agree it's good to consider the type of the ghost. The ghosts of starved sims definitely should be able to feel hunger. I had no idea the ghosts of burned sims shower a lot. That's a nice little detail

I also like the idea of ectoplasm for some ghosts. I'd like to think slob sims spread ectoplasm all over the place all the time :D
  • Personally, I have only EVER played with a ghost in my game, once. I really despise how EA ruined ghosts starting with Sims3. I mean, come on, since when does a ghost need to eat, let alone use the toilet? They're dead, for Surak's sake! Plus, they just don't scare Sims at the ready much anymore. It's been turned into quite the joke. I miss a Sim being able to be scared to death. Yes, I lost my favorite Sim to such a fate back in Sims2 when having a ghost in the house truly was something to fear. It had just the right amount of creepiness attached to it, to give the player a few chills. That was when it was fun. And, no, I wouldn't be awarding ghosts any traits.
  • Ghosts is definitely one of the life states in this game that need to be expanded on. They aren’t even scary they are just plain annoying. They possess and break objects all over my house and then disappear.

Also there isn’t much in terms of gameplay when you play them. They might come with special abilities based on how they died but that’s it. They can’t have ghost children either.

Fun fact though, if you have your Sim killed by plant from Strangerville, their ghost will have no motive decay at all.
  • I like @Vampris 's suggestions.

I also had an idea based on the ghosts I'm playing who I never played alive. I can't buy any of them those rewards now, but they can earn them by making the most of their afterlife. I might make a specific order that they can earn their way through over time, the longer they're dead and the more aspiration points they earn.
