You can still have this world as vacation destination. Just place a vacation rental lot in it and it will show up as an option when planning the vacation. This way you can live elsewhere and vacation in this world whenever you like.
You'll still see the same Sims it will break the immersion of being on vacation like in the trailer it appears you get away from your family to revive and rejuvenate right? How when you see family members walking around? I wanted like RL I don't want to see the same people/Sims unless they are on vacation as well. I want my Sims to have a vacation away from residential worlds not a jet 2 holiday. Plus we have 27 worlds if you have the packs like I do.
My sims can and will vacation in all the available worlds. From my experience, some sims seem to go everywhere, so it's not like you can avoid anyone in particular if you wanted. If you want this world as vacation only, you can do so in your game by making all lots as vacation rentals. This way you and any other sims only go there when on vacation. Your sims don't have to live in this world if you don't want to.
As some said above it won't be the same I'm not mad if it's residential however I'm saying I would love another destination vacation world instead of a residential worlds since we have plenty already.
