So, my Sims family came back from an evening of volunteering, and a notice pops up that their dog has runaway. It is suggested the pet will return eventually, but that they could get their pet back sooner if they posted an Alert, either by phone or on the computer. Problem is, I can't find how to do this. Not only that, but when I brought the camera upstairs, the silly dog is flat on her back, snoozing in her bed. Is this why the alert failed to appear on either the phone or the computer? Help me out, this is a first for me. :open_mouth: Please, and thank you, in advance.

I posted about this in the bug sections last night, the "combined issues most simmers are having" or something, and rosemow says its a bug, she linked me to an EA help thread. Sorry i cant link myself right now, im on mobile. When my cat ran away, the household was home and I posted an alert ASAP. The next sim day, my sim goes to her vet clinic then takes the family to a friends house. When they return home, the run away cat was at the playground, I called her over and she came in the house, but her portrait is still gray. I dont know why you couldn't post an alert though... If you click the phone, it should be the very first tab, and listed at the top... Where "call sadness hotline" usually is when your sims are sad.

You have to make a household with just the pet then merge the houses remove the original pet and it'll be fixed. I hope this helps!!:)

I am also having the same problem, I think it's a bug that will hopefully be fixed with the next patch. Little Walley liked going to the pools

You have to make a household with just the pet then merge the houses remove the original pet and it'll be fixed. I hope this helps!!:)

You could turn testing cheats on and right click your pet and click "Reset Object (Debug)"

What I did when it happened to me is I hit the like “call dog” button on the lower left hand side where it shows household members and he came back

I don’t know if this has ever been mentioned but I found a work around to keep pets from actually running away. It only works if you live in a house with a fence. Lock the front door for “all pets”, lock the gates on the fence for “all pets”. Don’t lock the backdoor. When the pet needs to use the restroom, he will go out the backdoor since it’s the only one not locked. He can’t get out of the yard bc it is fenced in and locked. You will still get notifications that the pet is running away but they never do. Life will resume as normal.

I have experienced this one time my dog ran away but I posted an alert so the dog came back earlier and I'm thankful for that

I Was just decorating my house when a alert came up. my dog ran away and I tried to post an alert.
It turns out that on my computer Only the kids can send a alert. i have not gotten My dog back yet though. Idk why this is happening. :'(
