HOWEVER...according to the visual catalogue there are no arrow slits.

The only reason I mention this is because the item is advertised on the official Sims 4 blog. Is this an oversight or am I missing something?
For example, If that window on row 2/ 6th from the left is supposed to be one of the notorious "slim arrow slits" does it have a swatch without the ornate window details -no glass, just open? I'm a confused man indeed.

Indeed that is the arrow slit in question. Long ago plucked from its roots in peasant revolt prevention and readjusted to a quiet life of keeping cold drafts at bay.

I won't lie, it aches my dark heart to learn that this is the arrow slit in question, although I do think it's a lovely little window. I really hope there's a swatch without the glass.

What aches my dark heart is imagining this lovely little window going to a family reunion where all its relatives are talking excitedly about that one time they defended their castle from peasant revolt

and all this little window has to say when its turn comes is that its been into self care recently
