Gremlins!

I added the Gremlins lot trait to my sim's apartment, and oh boy did those things live up to their blurb! Overnight, everything in my sim's apartment broke. If this is going to happen every night, I may have to take it off ... I like a challenge and all, but she's been working on repairing things for, like, four or five hours and is maybe half done. :/
  • Well inevitably I had to remove that lot trait, the game become unplayable when everything broke every single night. Maybe it was just bad luck, I don't know. :D

I don't know what to think about it. I think it's pretty unrealistic that lots can have "traits" like that. At least we should be able to turn it off or work through it some way.

Where do you find the repair gnomes, and what do they look like? Can I only have them in apartments?
  • I put a bunch of gnomes on a shelf in my apartment. Instead of stuff being broken every day, it's been about 2 sim weeks with no broken stuff. I guess it worked. Will post back if stuff breaks again.
  • Unbreakable does NOT defeat the trait for the record. I got unbreakable plumbing so as to avoid at least that issue (I hate when the tub breaks), and the tub and toilet both break every night. Which would bother me less if the tub was fixable. There is no progress ring when my Sim attempts to repair the tub-- she just goes on and on and on fixing it and it never finishes. I have now replaced the tub and this time I'm testing to see if the repairman can do it, but he's been here for hours too.

Is that because of the Gremlins trait or is this yet another glitch?

ETA: Repairman couldn't fix the tub either.
    This is ridiculous.
  • It's so frustrating! Imagine if you had a huge apartment and everything broke! It happened to me and my sim died from fixing a stove..
  • I had a sim who had a gremlins apartment as her first one as I wanted to make it realistic (she'd moved into a bad place on her first house) and ended up putting EVERYTHING that could break in my inventory every night, then replacing it the following morning. It got tedious and I eventually moved her out... Looking back I could have added Gnomes or just made her stay awake until midnight.
  • I was about to place my sim in an apartment that had the gremlin trait until I searched it up because I was uncertain. Thank the lords I didn’t place her there. Skipped a problem there
