Growing together CAS relations- Bug??

Sorry if this is in the wrong thread but it's about Growing Together and I'm not sure if this is a technical problem.

As a rotational player I've created a number of households and have now tried to go into household edits to add extended family.....only problem is now I don't appear the option to add parents for the existing households which I was able to previously, only options are to add them as a sibling or fiancée. For context I'm trying to add adult/Elders as parents to a household of 2 Young Adults.

Is this a bug?? Or has Growing Together just closed a loophole? It's not majorly disrupted my game but annoying as it's stopped me really getting to enjoy one of the big features of Growing Together.

    How old are those parents?

At first the parents were adults qhen I noticed I couldn't add. I switched them to elder. Same problem ?

I'll try again tonight and see if there's still a problem. I hope it was just a blip because I really wanted to add extended families to build my stories.
  • I have a ton of bugs but the number one I HATE is family members are flirty with family! Fathers with sons, daughter-in-laws with fil... etc., ugh!
I wish there was a family bubble for family talk ... it would be great to find "share good news" (baby) easier! (although I have not found it yet)
  • hmn? I had no trouble adding celestes dad from gallery and linking him to celeste

one thought ...did you create the families separately?

as in create family member and move them in household later rather than placing them to household from library/gallery or creating new sim while editing household

all family members have to be in same household when you add older members to link them up

im not sure but cas full edit mode cheat might work too
  • no, the son was born into the family - the son and father had a "normal" relationship until I installed Growing together... BUT the son got married and moved out right after the install. Weird!
    Maybe that is the bug?!
A newly married couple, both sims have flirt options with the grooms father... again weird!

I have been able to add parents to one of my households since Growing Together (I've only tried it once since the pack, but have done it many times before GT).

It worked fine in CAS; I just used genetics to create a parent. Then I moved the elder parents into their own household. The only thing that was a little weird was that when I first opened their household, their daughter and granddaughter (the original sims) were in their family tree, but did not show up in their relationship panel. So when they went over to the daughter's house to visit, they had to introduce themselves. However, once they did so, they already had a green relationship bar, and were all correctly listed as family members in each other's relationship panels.
