Did they say the theatre is going to be a rabbit hole? That’s too bad, I was hoping it was going to be playable. Rabbit holes ( other than a few jobs ), are just a disappointment for me.
You can see the movie theater in the trailer and it looks like a rabbithole building.
The main reason I game up on Sims 3 after being given the initial game as a gift was because it was filled with rabbit holes, you could visit work place lots, but not go inside, you could go to a restaurant, but it was a rabbit hole. The rabbit holes frustrated me so much that I gave up playing it in the beginning….
But, when I got sims 4 and realized there weren’t a lot of rabbit holes other than jobs, I was happy, and when the first expansion pack came out with : active careers with actual work places I was ecstatic! I was hoping we would get more jobs just like those. I rarely use any of the rabbit holes in sims 4 (other than jobs). Even with seasons and scouts, I much prefer taking my scouts to a scout lot I made rather than sending them off to the rabbit hole. With the inclusion of get together and clubs it is easy to do.
I had the same shock as you to the TS3 rabbitholes. It felt like there was nothing to do, just run around on an empty map while all the other sims were at work, school, etc.
I kinda disagree with that .Most rabbit holes in 3 were the careers and school .Sims 3 had plenty active buildings .Pool, museum, library, bar and if you had late night night clubs . - crocobaura3 years agoLegend

I know about those lots, but there was no one there when I visited them, it was really tiring running after sims trying to hold a conversation. - SheriSim3 years agoSeasoned Ace

I’m pretty sure the sims 3 basegame had restaurants that were rabbit holes….. the best restaurants ever I think were in sims 2. But then Sims 2 I thought was way ahead of it’s time. - meeshwood3 years agoSeasoned AceI don't mind the cinema being a rabbit hole. Plus you can still build a cinema if you have the movie stuff pack. We don't have an overwhelming amount of rabbit holes in game, it's a decent balance.
I don't think we will see cars in this pack. That would be a big selling point, it wouldn't be left out of the blog post. - amapola763 years agoSeasoned Ace

Are we going to see "families" out at parks? Toddlers and infants? Or still just single sims?
Mind, I haven't played in a long time so I don't know if those things have been incorporated...
I'm sure we'll see families out at the recreation centers. Hopefully, they'll update parks, too.
In parks there are often a lot of child sims, at least if you send a child sim there, especially if you have monkey bars there.
Clubs help with this, too. If you have at least one playgroup club with kids, and set their meeting place to a particular park, or parks in general, they will almost always show up when you are there.
I use clubs this way all the time, with different types of clubs, so my public venues are rarely empty. - flaminganakin3 years agoSeasoned Traveler

I'm curious as to if the cinema/movie theatre is something we can actually go into.
I also think there'll be something more teeth-related, given the initial teasers.
PLEASE, because I'll always contend that one of the biggest missteps the Sims team ever made was not including a cinema lot type, or AT LEAST a ticketing system with the Movie Hangout stuff pack. I mean what was the reason??? :'( - flaminganakin3 years agoSeasoned TravelerI've said this before on other threads, but I'm really hoping they give kids something other than another activity table. I know we're getting tree houses (which I am excited for), I hope we'll also get rocking horses, and stuff like hopscotch, hide and seek, cops & robbers, etc.
I'm also hoping for more cross-pack integration, especially with Seasons, Parenthood, & Snowy Escape. - Tomorrow we will have a gameplay trailer so hopefully we will find out MORE
