But sims stand up to watch the comedian too, so that won't fix anything. I tried building this gorgeous performing arts theater once, with rows of seating and a stage area for performing musicians and comedians. I even put the stage on the same level just to make sure there wasn't any obstruction for being on split levels. But nobody used the chairs, they all huddled close around the performer to watch. :\
