Who knew that when Atari came out with the tv game "Pong" in the early 1970's (my brother and I played that game for endless hours) this electronic gaming thing would turn into a multi-billion dollar industry?
It wasn't until the mid 1980's when I could save up enough money to get my first Atari console gaming system (after the Pong fad died off). Asteroids and Space Invaders were my top fave games to play. I was hooked.
Then I got my first computer in 1989 and soon after added dial-up internet access (it was a very pricey addition to your monthly phone bill back then), just so I could join my cousin and a bunch of our friends in the Dungeons and Dragons online MUDs gaming frenzy that was growing more and more popular with anyone who could afford to buy a home computer.
Ahhh nostalgia.....
And the rest, as they say, is history.
