Hard to get good looking sims born in game?

I have seen people have some great looking sims born in game. I have had several great looking couples produce very mediocre looking sims though :( I have not had success in having a child grow up into a beautiful adult.

Mine turned out cute, especially their teen daughter. She's beautiful IMO. The children my Sim had with Don L? HIDEOUS! They looked like men in drag. Don's kind of ugly anyways (IMO) so wasn't too surprised his children were errr....attractiveness challenged.

I actually kind of like that it's a toss up if the children will be gorgeous or not, kind of like in life. You could always give them plastic surgery to make them look more like their parents?

I don't guess I've had this problem because I'm not looking for handsome/gorgeous. I'm looking for Sims who carry on family resemblance. Some are better looking than others. I haven't had any I considered ugly. Average is fine by me.

One thing I've noticed is that what the child looks like is often not a good reflection of what the teen/YA/A will look like. My legacy family sports a prominent nose, and you can never tell from the child stage whether or not they'll get the nose.

Probably because Sims 4 wasn't initially designed for generational play.

I've had some successes with good looking sims being born in game.
Don had some kids in my game, and his eldest daughter is a stunner... I think, anyway. I could be biased B)

I've purposely made some of my sims ugly just to see how bad their offspring turn out. :D Seriously though I understand what you're saying.

Mine are horrible ugly kids, so ugly that I am tempted to kill them. (i even named this girl Failure because I was gonna kill her)

However, I gave them a chance and made them teens; she turned out actually pretty. Re named her to Cassie right after.

In past sims games whenever I had a great looking couple they always had great looking kids. I guess I do agree that it's neat this time around, not knowing what you'll end up with.

In my game, my sim couple had a boy who ended up having black hair. The funny thing is neither of his parents had black hair. His mom was blonde and his dad a brunette. It's funny seeing how genetics work in this game.

I have had some cute sim children.
