Has Anyone Solved the Random NPC Career Outfit Problem?

I've had this issue for at least 2 years and have dang near tried everything, including S4 Studio batch fixes and no luck!

I have a sim who's a nurse and another who's a police officer, and any time I go to work with them, their coworkers will be wearing absolutely ANYTHING except their freaking uniforms. My live-played sims at least show up in the outfits I set for them, but today, one of the lab techs at the police station had on the pink panda suit, and an officer was legit buck-freaking naked (he at least had the decency to put his police hat on though :D )

I've tried disabling CC for NPC's in S4 Studio and all it does is just that... I show up to work and now they're just wearing random base game apparel. Once the chief showed up in a sparkly red ballgown!!! (he looked stunning by the way lol). But even other played sims that also work at the station (Who I have physically set the work outfit for) will show up wearing their everyday/workout outfits when their not the household I'm playing as. It drives me absolutely NUTS!

The only suggestion I've seen that allegedly worked for someone is purchasing the Strangerville pack, because apparently the Strangerville update has something to do with the career outfit bug, but I'm not about to drop money on a pack I have no interest in when I don't even know if it will solve the problem. Has anyone else had this issue and figured out the culprit/ a potential solution????

  • If you have CC enabled for random, townies will wear the CC. Once you disable it for random, the game replaces it with whatever is available. That's how the game is designed to work for missing content. It's never been smart about creating outfits.

I never have any CC enabled for random. The moment it hits my mods folder and before I start the game, I fix it with S4 Studio. You can edit single files. No need to run a batch fix every time for one or two things.

I don't have this problem. It has nothing to do with which packs I own. It's because I'm so strict about checking the CC I download.
