I have tried using the generic lot type but other sims wouldn't show up... but what if i use the community space lot type? It does attract a lot of sims. I could put the community space's requirements that don't fit the hotel in a locked basement...

I think it depends on what you want from your hotel. If you just want it to be populated, then yes, it attracts quite a lot of sims. They tend to garden by themselves, use the fabricator and candle making station, they also like to congregate around eating areas. They don't use the beds autonomously, so you probably won't have to shoo sims out of your room if you don't add a TV or something else that attracts them. You could probably use it to make a farm type hotel, where guests could farm and what not.
Oh they don't use the bed autonomously... well then it won't make it for me. Thanks for the imput :)
I think that's great since we cannot lock the doors on other lots. It makes no difference if other beds are occupied or not during the night.
Yes, i agree. It would make me crazy if it worked like that as i was playing :) i guess i'll have to keep waiting for a hotel pack :)
