Have extreme emotion deaths become easier?

I've had the hysterical death happen, not once, but twice to the same sim... minutes apart. This was slightly after Vampires, so I think there maybe be a correlation.

I just finished getting her hitched and then had them go off to Granite Falls for a honeymoon. While I was there I remembered the secret area with the hermit so I figured they could check that out. She happened to have a lot of happy moodlets already, and apparently hit it off with the hermit. They were telling jokes when she became hysterical and she immediately collapsed. Grim showed up and the husband begged for her life. She was spared but not a minute later succumbed to hysterica again and died... again...before Grim even had a chance to leave. At least he witnessed all of this and maybe took pity on those two weirdos.... the second plea worked as well.

Never taking newlyweds on vacation again! Now I get super nervous whenever any of my other sims start getting very playful. I try to shut that down as soon as possible.
