Have You Ever Had to Disappoint Your Sim?
I am writing up what happens in my game and adding motive and context to my Sims' actions. I decided the King (Erik's father) would give the eighteen-year-old permission to wed his sweetheart because Erik will be assuming the throne in two weeks' time. It's now just a few days away. However, since the bride's father also had a say in this scheme, his main concern was for his daughter's education. A Sim cannot be pregnant and continue in college. Very bizarre if you ask me, yet the Sims is what it is. This does make for a bit of a powerful twist.
The kids are still newlyweds, since they married on a Monday and it will be one week, for them, in two Sim days. So, Erik asked his Noble Advisor, which is Kayleigh, for some Noble Advice, which was a task he had to perform in the Noble Career. I so totally didn't expect her to advise what she did. She started off telling him he was a strong leader, but with no children to pass this legacy onto . . . He had two options Okay, or I don't think now is a good time (or words to that effect). Kayleigh is understandably disappointed, suggesting she knew children were a considerable responsibility but without them he could pass his legacy onto his wife . . .
Since I wrote that there were conditions under which King Joseph gave them permission to wed, I had little to no choice, really than to take the second option. Wow, just wow. Of course, currently this is no room at the castle. Yes, I could use MCCC to amend how many people live on the lot, but I'm quite convinced that is what truly messed up my previous game saves. I'm sticking with just eight, as a result.
I will be moving the King, Queen, Princess Brianna and Prince Adrian out a week from this coming game day, Tuesday or 3rd day of Winter. She has to go to Vulcan, as that's when her official birthday will pass. It's my thought to not have them return, but live in another of the family's manors (which I may or may not build).
So, this is my predicament, causing me to disappoint a Sim, what's yours?
