I agree with you, @Tantalus
In TS3, I downloaded a lot of bad CC. My game got so corrupted, it would crash every few minutes, and eventually the game wouldn't even open. This traumatized me into playing TS4 completely vanilla for a long time, but when I finally reinstalled mods, I made sure to only download a few at a time, keep them up-to-date, and immediately remove any broken ones. With this new tactic, my game runs smoothly, even despite me having more mods than I can count. I don't think I could ever play vanilla again!
