Have your pets been extra needy since Seasons?

I don't see it as my pet being needy, more so the problem is with the sims needing to constantly pet them.I got pets just before seasons so I wasn't used to them, but I don't have a problem with them now. It stopped though, but it was annoying they constantly wanted to pet the dog.
