I am EgonVM. I've begun playing The Sims in December 2008 when I received The Sims 2 as a gift in my stocking. I was looking for a game where you could not only build the buildings, but see what's happening inside it too, so The Sims was a perfect game for me. It has been my main interest, so much so that once one of my computers broke down, I took a chess board and played The Sims there with my imagination.
One thing that I can also say is that I know a lot about The Sims due to my curiosity and sometimes spending most of my time on The Sims Wiki. While I do have a YouTube channel on making The Sims guide videos (which I hope to revive eventually), I am usually happy to help on the forums too. Plus, nowadays as I have found a way to access the tuning files, I sometimes take a look at these and compile a thread on a topic. This is the thread of all the interest threads I've made on The Sims Forums.
In addition, I also like to create. In The Sims, I have world building projects with custom neighborhoods and custom sims with custom stories etc. Also started my game development journey at the end of last year, so more projects to take on...
And finally, I have a cat. A catchphrase I don't use often on the Internet, I guess.

It is special that you starting simming when you received The Sims as a Christmas gift. It has been a great ongoing gift that has brought you much enjoyment over the years.
Thankyou very much for all the very helpful information that you provide for fellow simmers on the forums. It helps very much in our playing of our games and enjoying simming.
It is great that you enjoy building and creating sims also. It would be enjoyable for you seeing your sims that you have created and given background stories to, living in the neighbourhoods in homes that you have created and visiting community lots that you have built.

Welcome to everyone I haven't said hello to yet! 👋
It's great to see and speak to so many players I haven't met before. It's made our forum an even bigger friendlier place than it was already and provided us with some totally different discussions and threads that we didn't have. I'm busy catching up with all the Sim lit I didn't know existed lol and despite the eye strain I'm loving it...I should really pace myself!
AHQ feels brighter for all of you joining us and bringing your knowledge, stories and creativity with you!
