I've made a pond on my Sim's home lot. I've put a sign in it. I've clicked the sign, clicked "Manage Fish in Pond", and selected the fish I would like in the pond. When I click on the pond and try to fish, the options are greyed out and have the message "Sims can only fish here once this pond has been stocked with fish. Place a Fishing Allowed Sign from Build Mode in this water and then use it to add fish," when I mouse over it.I thought I had done what the message is telling me to do! Is there something I'm missing?! Help!

I do not own this pack yet, however from the information I have read/watched on this, your Sim must first go out into the world and catch the specific fish you want, then you can go back and stock them in your pond. In other words you have to unlock each fish, by first catching it elsewhere then bring it back to the pond and add that fish to your pond. Then you should be able to catch that type of fish directly from your pond. Someone else who actually has the game can verify if this information is correct.

I learned to not place the sign with MOO, and not at the edge of the pond, in order to get this to work.

I've caught some fish, built my pond, added the sign, and clicked the "Stock Pond" button. Still unable to fish in it. Do I need to currently have the fish in my inventory?

@SerenityVIII, I thought the pond tool was added to BG in the last update. Is that not the case?

Maybe it is base game in the new update? I haven't read the base game update notes in their entirety yet. Someone else can likely clarify this.

Would it be weird to confess my love to a stranger on the internet? Hyperbolic, perhaps? Whatever, I LOVE YOU!!! I turned off MOO, found a spot in the pond where the sign was happy, and now I can fish! I knew it had to be something silly like that.

I'm having issues with the ponds too. I downloaded the patch the other day and bought CL on release. I do not use any mods/CC/cheats.

I created a pond, placed the sign in it, but when I visit the pond with my Sim, who has several fish in her inventory, if I click on the sign it doesn't give me an option to stock the pond. No option at all.

Can we only stock a pond if it is in our residential lot? Or in community lots too?

To clarify, I can add the "ornamental" fish (the ones found in BB with the ducks, insects, tadpoles, etc) but I want to add fish that can be fished.

Any ideas?
