If you haven't already, try deleting your localthumbcache file. When you remove mods, it's always recommended you do that.
If you've already done that try resetting your Sims 4 folder. To do that, name your old folder something like "The Sims 4.OLD," start the game and a new folder will generate. After you've checked to make sure everything is working as intended, move your Saves, Tray, and Options files from your old folder into the newly generated folder.
If that doesn't work, try a game repair.
