The best thing I can say about High School Years was that it fleshed out the teen life stage.
Oddly the High School portion was the least enjoyable part for me until I got a mod that allowed me to choose what other students showed up at the school. I also had to create my own school because the default school is dreary and boring with a poor layout.

The best part for me was the new social app, (although it to gets boring after while, but it lets me organize the sims most important to my sim) Trendi App, the game streaming computer, and all the build/buy and CAS content. I also liked the TrifTea Boba tea shop as a hangout for my teens. Classes are boring, but I do like the free time before classes and during lunch break to social, work on skills, or aspirations and wants.
The school events are a bit of a let down. Prom would be interesting if you actually had more time to enjoy it.

So when you created your own school did you use Hogwarts?

No, it was for my main save, but the situation is similar.
I converted a private school dorm that I had created before High School Years (basically a residential lot used to house 6 of my world's teens and two adult sims to run it.) I turned it into this high school.


You could pretend the football field is for a version of quidditch, but unfortunately you can't have your sims practice broom riding.
On the other hand, anyone with a broom would get out there a lot faster.


I might just give this school a Realm of Magic themed texture and object make-over to see how magic school play might work.


I do have a mod that lets me decide which students show up at the school, so would be 6 more students in addition to the ones I am playing at the Hogwarts castle. It would be a very odd set up. Nothing authentic about it. :D
