They didn't say anything and fixed the game. Not only that they've added continuous free updates for the past 5 years and now the game is just amazing.
And it's not just No Man's Sky. Square Enix remade their entire game because it was negatively recieved and it has now become one of the most popular MMOs ever.
A lot of companies are way more sincere, customer-friendly and understanding than EA. EA has been caught in the act of "cash-grabbing" many times and they never admit they did anything wrong. They just find an excuse to cover things up. Or will say "I guess we are innovating too much" after being called out for adding microtransactions and loot boxes.
Really don't bother with EA, they don't speak "customer language", they will never admit of doing anything wrong.
