Ha ha, that's awkward for sure. The last time I played the detective career, I had to arrest my Sims brother in law 3 times. I ended up quitting the career, because it was ruining all the relationships within the family. I would probably kick the Sim out of the club, or it might affect other club members (or at least make sure your relationship with them is fixed before a gathering).
