High school diploma

Have you tried to place the items you wish to keep in a trunk that comes with Uni? If you can't, then place them into a room and then save the room to your My Library in the Gallery. Then when you move your Sim into their own lot, download the room and voila. you got your stuff. Hope this helps.

Are the prom event awards are in electronics under the stereos category? If so you can buy them anytime after unlocking them. Your sim could sell them, move to their new house, and rebuy.

I have a suspicion that none of the diplomas belong to any sim. Graduating just gives one for free.

Well, community lots and unowned lots have every unlockable object unlocked. While I do suspect that unlocks stay with the household, try it out yourself and see if you can buy it.

I think your suspicions are correct :) None of these things are "personalized". Like, diplomas from high school/Uni, birth certificates, Accolade awards etc.

I'l just have to tell myself its not a big deal. I'll move him out so he can continue with his life. I just get these ideas in my head, and I'm too stubborn to want to let them go XD

I've been trying to figure out how to buy a diploma but it never shows up especially since my sim graduated early.

There is no early graduation diploma. The last patch has added the diploma mail (I don't know which one will you get), but if you had your sim graduate before the patch, no diploma for them!

If you want to buy a diploma, open build mode, objects by function, decorations, and then wall decorations. Filter by HSY expansion pack to find it easily.
The regular diploma costs 50 Simoleons, the honors diploma costs 60 Simoleons, and Valedictorian diploma costs 75 Simoleons.

You are so very welcome. I do hope it works for you, too. Seems I've just returned a favor done unto me by another player quite some time ago. I forgot I'd made a backup of my game prior to a patch and the game kept killing my Global Superstar! Once I was asked if I had made a backup, I remembered that I had. Changed the current save for the backup and all was well again. phew!
