Holidays and Discover University.

I just had a sim in University, and yes they have to attend classes, otherwise, it will hurt their grade.

I think this is something they will need to fix in a patch. For the major holidays, I will probably avoid re-enrolling a sim during that week, sort of like how real universities have breaks.

I have a sim whose graduation day is scheduled for Spooky Day but I'll just go ahead with that one.

This isn't really a big deal to me. When I send sims to study I don't really care that much about holidays, I just want them to get through. There's not enough time anyway to travel back home to family and celebrate with them, your student would need to return to the dorm very soon, anyway. If you want to have a longer Winterfest vacation with family, you could try to start the term 7 (?) days before Winterfest, and by not re-enrolling you could stay home for much longer.

I have not really noticed anything special during holidays, not sure if they went to class by free will or I had to direct them. I recall there were days when nobody seemed to go to classes automatically, those days might have been holidays.

I'm really not a fan of this. It feels wrong to have my sim go classes on holidays such as Easter. I may just have to reschedule some holidays so they fall on weekends instead. It seems unfair that my students have to get the sad buff from the holidays that they can't take part in.

I just edit the holidays with things they can do at uni and for Winterfest - I put the tree they can decorate and the presents at the commons. It works for me this way - they still go to class but can also celebrate the holidays.

I wish there was a way round this other than deleting holidays. Christmas is the big one for me because I put related holidays in every save so I think my sims will be taking that week off every time. I am going to be playing university with aging off for most sims anyway, unless they are staying in their original home and raising a family or studying whilst working.

With how short the semester is, I don't see how it would make sense to block holidays off. If you did, you could potentially have a term where you only went to one of your classes once. Versus simulating a winter break by not enrolling around those big holidays, which would play out a lot more realistically where most students go home for a long period of time.

I understand why this is annoying for you, but rather than waste your money by not playing the EP I would recommend maybe utilizing a mod to save your grade so you may skip classes on those days.

I think rescheduling holidays for the weekend is the best way to deal with this as things are now? Kind of makes sense, especially if your terms end up being Monday-Friday that means you would have Winterfect/Harvestfest on the break between terms. With how short the terms are already, I wouldn't want it built in that my sims skip additional days.

She doesn't have to go if it's a holiday that has school/work off. That's why she's not being pushed to go to class. Careers work the same way.

On the day of the holiday, it'll show that your sim has the day off work until it's actually time to go. That's when the 'Go to class/work' button appears, because you have the option to send them anyway.
