@kalaksed I did not mean to offend anyone with my choices for homeless attire. By saying 'standard' I meant in my game. My Sims actually wear a wide variety of outfits, I just showed a few. @aaronrulz asked for examples in the game for 'ripped' so that's what I tried to show him was available. Heath has a full beard because when I started that particular gameplay, it was late Fall in the game. Later on he 'cut' off his beard once it was Spring.
I know there is a wide variety of clothing worn by homeless people, I wasn't trying to depict the 'stereotype'. It's just the kind of clothes MY homeless Sims would wear for their situations. Depending on their story, they wear different things, for example my Sim Sunshine wore something very different as shown above.
Also, your examples on how to make different outfits from one is great and I've actually done exactly that. Eva's outfit changed from what I showed to wearing a t-shirt (coincidentally the one in your example) instead of the sweatshirt for a top and didn't wear the beanie when it was warm out. Then later on as it got even warmer and she earned some simoleans, she changed out the jeans for shorts. She switched to a different hat too because she loves hats and rarely goes anywhere without wearing one.
I guess I tend to go for the warmer outfits for my homeless Sims because I live in Michigan where it's cold most of the time in Fall/Winter and typically right on into Spring. We don't get much hot weather here. lol In my mind the rips in the jeans were appropriate too since none of these Sims had any simoleons and I imagine they'd been on the street for a long time. Some of them were runaways too that tried to stay out of the public eye so they probably wouldn't have went anywhere to get other clothes.
Oh dear @DeKay I apologize to you as well. I know ripped jeans are 'trendy' now and have been for a long time. I guess I just have an old school mentality, since, in my generation, if you wore ripped jeans, it meant you couldn't afford better jeans for whatever reason. Unless you wore the kind of cut off jean shorts called Daisy Dukes. Those were all the rage back then. lol
Anyway, thanks for your examples @kalaksed and for the stories about the homeless people in your area. They sound very interesting and eclectic in their attire. I live in small town rural America and rarely even see any homeless people around here. One of the few homeless guys I've ever seen actually WAS dressed like Heath and Eva. But again, it was the middle of Winter too.
Have a great rest of your evening/day and the following week!
Happy Simming! :)
