Horse Ranch - Ranch Hand is stealing art!!

while it could be a glitch if you find the ranch hand in the household management or try to edit him you can see if he is a klepto which would make it part of the game so you'd have to fire him and hope you get a better one.

So hard to get good help these days. ? ?

I'm now on my fourth ranch hand.

Sims with the kleptomaniac trait will steal objects. If you see them do it you can try and add them to your household and recover the item form their inventory. If the leave the lot before you can do this, then the item is gone.

Yep, he was a klepto. I just fired him, LOL!

I do find klepto Sims annoying, too. I disabled it using a mod quite some time ago.

I don't like that klepto trait either, but I wonder if this trait could switch to an opposite like it sometimes happens with the relationship traits?

My game would be ruined if a servant stole a rare portrait of a former head of the house - being a monarch or a duke. I really hope they only steal motifs that can be recreated from the catalogue.

I normally make sure my sims who hire servants have the "observant" trait, I think that is what it is called. That trait is not very expensive, but it makes it easier to learn all traits of another sim, say a maid or farmhand. This way my sims can avoid hiring a klepto, or at least get rid of it very quickly.

You simply must vet people thoroughly before you hire them to work in your home. I agree, the ranch hand likely has the Kleptomaniac Trait. I would fire his assets promptly.

I don't mind the klepto trait per say, but find it is way too common. I wish there was more or less common traits. I mean erratic and klepto would be very, very rare traits in real life, so it should be in game too.

Also I wish there was more to do with the trait. If your sim has it, and get caught trying to steal, they fail. But when Angela sees her sister steal the tv she can't even argue with her about it. There is no 'catch in the act' or 'yell at for stealing' or 'fire for stealing'. I would love such an interaction, especially if it meant you could also get your stuff back. Then there would be gameplay attached to it, now there is no gameplay around it at all, which makes it just annoying.
