@SheriSim57 I agree, wheat and a mill would be awesome to add! Would add to the simple living, and farmers would truly be even more self-sustaining. Would be great for those who like their sims living in the past as well.
We could go fully self sufficient and live out our homestead dreams in the sims. Tiny house ✅ Solar Panels, Water Collection, Turbines, and Eco-Uprgades✅ Bonus Traits ✅ Greenhouse✅ Crops✅ Animals ✅Processing Equipment for the crops✅ Ability to either exchange animals for meat or order it and pretend we did/that we got it from another sim’s ranch✅ Cross pack integration with Kniting, Cottage Living, Eco-Lifestyle, Seasons, that 1st game pack where we got Herbalism, Pets, etc✅= Cottage Core Fantasies unlocked (virtually at least)
Just imagine you wake up and make toast and jam with the preserves and bread from cottage living. (Idk that we can make toast rn but Ranchers definitely eat toast, also hotcakes right? So give us a toaster and a cast iron pan and a campfire cooking set up too.) But you’re eating your toast, then you put on your comfy morning clothes. Clothes you sewed yourself with a new Sewing machine, and stuff you knitted already. Then you head out and collect your chicken eggs. But wait, you also have other bird eggs myb ducks (idk myb there’s probably ducks in Arizona, myb it’s geese. Which are in the iced tea cans? Either way it’d be cool to have more bird eggs). After that you milk your cow and your goats. And tend to your sheep and llamas.
Now it’s time to change into sturdier clothes and tend your horses. Later you gather all the droppings together in the manure/ compost area thing, to turn into good plant food. Then you tend your crops. And later you ride and ride.
No bills bc you’re off grid, and you’ve got water saved, solar and wind power. And you grow all your food. Even processing your own pantry staples. Let them give us pickling, and dehydrating and we’d be set. Not just hardtack, or beef jerky. We could have our sims making all different types of foods and selling extras at the farmers market. Or online.
You could literally have a sim be an immortal recluse, spellcaster, vampire, alien, mermaid (though you might need a pool), whatever; and have them build up their self-sufficient ranch/farm (is the difference focusing on animals and/or the size?) and only have them really interact with their animals. And like the welcome wagon. Also possibly anyone they sell food to. And see how long and far you could take it in sim years b4 you like it. And then see who is left in the world once they step out.
