So it wasn't an isolated incident when the sim in one of my saves couldn't extinguish the log seat by a campfire in Granite Falls. He was roasting bugs and he and the log by the firepit that he was sitting on caught fire, I managed to get him to extinguish him self after I caught up to him running in panic so I could click on him, but when I tried to have him exstinguish the fire on the log seat he kept having routing failurs, so in the end I shift clicked reset on the log seat and the fire slowly died out.
This is exactly what happens to me every time I start a fire in Granite falls. This happened even before the latest patch.
