House fire lasted two days

Yesterday I had my second fire since I began playing Sims4. My male Sim was cooking and the stove caught fire as well as my Sim. He was in a full-on panic but wouldn't move away from the stove. So after reading this I am wondering if this is another glitch that is happening after the latest patch. My game has been wonky as heck since that patch dropped. Just in case it is, I am going to install sprinklers in all my playable households because I don't want to lose any of my Sims while I am doing a rotation through my families. We all know our Sims aren't very smart when it comes to fires. :#

Yeah, I very rarely got a fire before unless I had a washer/dryer in the home (which is why I quit using them before). Not sure what made me install them in this house, LOL. Since he would stand outside waving his hand when I wanted him to put out the fire, I decided I would have him walk into the house and then extinguish it. He stood in the fire and waved his hand :s I had to hurry and get him out of there before he caught fire! I think it is a glitch because I sure wouldn't want to go thru two sim days of this again! Usually when a patch drops, I check to make sure the update finished and then repair it. Since I only had one household in the new game I started, I didn't repair it. All was fine when I was building up my hood and placing my sims in their homes, till I came back to this one :D I installed a sprinkler inside, in the kitchen in another house I built. Is that right? Do I need to install one in the LR with the fireplace? Or is one sprinkler enough for the whole house?
