How can I change pet fears?

I've got a dog that's scared of the stove, tv and toilet. It's infuriating.
I read somewhere that you can change these fears/hidden traits with testingcheats enabled and by shift clicking on the pet - it this correct?
Or are there other ways to do it such as via MC command center?
