How can I remove holiday decor from community lots?

I don't like it either. If they decided to code the game to have deco up on places we can't control, then they should have coded that deco to disappear at the appropriate times.

It's been suggested to me to make a new holiday on the calendar to remove that deco. I did. I call it Day of cleansing and it happens twice a year. No decorations.

Sometimes they are gone, sometimes they are back. I also deleted all the in game holidays. lol Don't need no love day hearts on foundations everywhere and especially not on my nightclubs!

I wondered this too when the temple in Selvadorada had Love Day lights on it. Who took the time to do that? :D

Hi @fullspiral . Thanks for the Day of cleansing idea. I'll try that, hoping it will have effect on community lots even if I cancel it in my active household.

Yea, hearts and what not shouldn't be all over he place. My new Council House gets them, too! Looks kinda silly when the council members goes to a meeting in a build covered with hearts... I'd accept a small decor object say on the front door, it just gets too massive on foundations, walls, awnings, roof, fences and rails. My farm has a large fenced in field, and the fence gets decorated year round, too. Quite disturbing, actually. Also looks weird on the Science Lab and Police station etc...

I blame this on the people that only play one house and want story progression to make it feel like the whole town is playing along with them.

yep. It's one of the reasons I don't like seasons. ( I made a rhyme!) I like the weather and the storms.....just not the rest of it.

I thought the decorations would only affect residential lots. It doesn't make much sense to affect community lots... I never actually wondered this but...are the hospital and science facility affected by this? Aahahaha

Yes, all fences at Science facility are decorated. It looks very strange in noman's land. The hospital i don't know, hardly go there.

Is this actually supposed to happen? I don't notice decor up around town during off-holiday periods of time, decor is only up leading up to and for a day or two after a holiday where I have holiday decor settings in the drop down and I'm not noticing it at all on most non-residential lights.

I did delete all the default holidays and fill the calendar with custom ones though, so that could be a factor.
