My ex husband brought me the game back in the days when the sims 1 was newly released :) Our oldest daughter was newly born so it was a nice way to pass the time when she was awake during the night , today she and her sister is dedicated sims players same as their mom even if we do take our breaks in between to play other games we always return to the sims.
My oldest son was born in 2000. I would play at night when he was asleep instead of sleeping. lol
