I haven't allowed my Sims to have an object yet. Therefore there has been nothing to age up to be a child.
I've been playing Sims 4 today and yesterday. The most positive comment I can make about it is that it still is the type of game that is a frustrating waste of time and space on my computer.
Maybe if you actually got over the nitty gritty and tried to play you would enjoy it more.
I doubt it. I've had a few goes at it and a few weeks ago I had a complete meltdown over the mindlessness of the requirements of the game. I gave it a break and had another go at seeing what it has to offer since the latest patch. So it wouldn't totally force me to shut the game down in the first few minutes of launching it I put the entire garden in the household inventory to stop my Sims from constantly having to tend their tiny garden.
The one most obvious thing the game has to offer me personally is the opportunity to reinstall the game after every patch. That is one opportunity I am no yet going to accept. If every patch corrupts my game then it seems obvious to me that the people who make the patches either don't want me to play, or they think it is acceptable to expect someone to spend hours reinstalling a game over and over and over again until they finally get a non corrupt version of it installed. And then have it corrupted again a few weeks later by yet another patch which requires another set of reinstalling of the game.
Then there the new bugs introduced with the patch. Currently the active Sim randomly goes into an infinite loop and can't move from the spot they are standing in. The game doesn't freeze. Other Sims are still walking around. Since it is obvious to me that the sim has gone into a loop of some sort i looked around for a way of getting them out of it. Consequently, the work around I've been using is to take the stuck sim into Create a Sim and then immediately close CAS. The Sim then happily walks away.
Apart from the obvious practical shortcomings of the game, in my opinion life's way to short for me to be prepared to be miserable forcing myself to waste what time I have on a mindless boring waste of time just so someone else can approve of my efforts to play it just because they happen to enjoy it. I've got better and more interesting things to do with my time. I have only been in the game today because of the patch and I've had a long look at it and I'll close it and leave it. Maybe I'll have another look next time there is a patch.
The game shouldn't corrupt every time there's a new patch. It's the first I've heard of this, you should go to technical support for help. Same with the infinite Sim loop glitch.
And I never said you should force yourself to play, just when you do happen to play, get over the small things like babies being objects and maybe try playing with children.
