how do i make my own nannies

Just a sidenote: I would really like it, if you could call your parents and ask them, if they want to come over to take care of the child while you are away. That way the actual grandparents would be babysitting.

If testingcheats true does not work for you, try testingcheats on. It will tell you when it's activated. Then use CAS.fulleditmode. I use this method to age my nannies down to young adult, change their traits, and give them a makeover lol.

I haven't tried it with nannies but I have with landlords and DJ's. If you use the cas.fulleditemode, you can edit them in CAS. I know for the landlords and DJ's they will spawn as such if you save them and add them into a new game.

Easiest way is to simply install the UI cheats mod. It doesn't actually change the game in any way. It just makes the options available by shift-clicking on sims. Much less hassle than typing commands.

I use it all the time. I have edited nannies, maids, bar people, repair people, pizza delivery people, the living statue, DJs and more. Pause game, shift-click, edit, back in game.
