the whims remind me of ts2 wants as well, when i first started playing ts4 i thought they made some sense and sometimes i would somehow guide the gameplay over them but i've realized that they're kinda random and repetitive.
i think whims should match traits and try to match situations more often. one of the few whims i get that fits a situation is when my sim flirts with another sim and they get the whim of wanting to kiss each other.
more situational whims would be cool, and adding more whims for more variety.
whims on the game are not my priority but they shouldn't be ignored as it's also part of the gameplay
