- It might be a bit of work but maybe you could edit the houses you want thembto visit to have the candy bowl outside and visit them manually. Lots of loading screens but the kids would have candy, might be worth it.

Yeah, I was trying to think of ways to simulate, haha, going trick or treating with kids in one's own household. I do have an assisted living facility in my Template Save, which is what a lot of my games are based on. I was thinking I could decorate it up and put candy bowls outside the bedroom doors of the elder Sims that live there. A lot of the larger facilities in our town in RL do this, and a lot of the kids just do that. The residents do love to see the kids in their costumes.
There is also a carnival at the convention center here in town. I was thinking I could fix up a community lot with some "booths," games, and of course candy bowls. But I wonder how I could trigger kids to come there in costume.....ah, I wonder if it would work to host a Spooky Party there, and just invite kids? I'd have to get to know more kids than I typically do, but maybe."Hobbitmama75;c-16571253" wrote:
Yes, they seem to show up randomly. What I can't work out is how to get the child sims in a household to go trick or treating? I tried to get them all in costumes and visited a known household with an adult sim in tow, but there was no option to trick or treat on the door, nor could I find one in the menus or phone menus. Anyone have any ideas?
But how is trick or treating supposed to work without an open world? If you haven't loaded a lot, the only things loaded are the house itself and the furniture inside, not the sims living there, so how are they suppposed to come out of their house when you're trick or treating?- BlueSeaWavesSeasoned Ace.. I don’t think I’ve had spooky day yet..and I’ve played through 2 complete seasons. Do you get it only if you have the spooky stuff pack?

You need to create it as a custom holiday, it's not one of the pre-made ones. You don't need the Spooky Stuff Pack for it, but if you have Spooky Stuff you can use the items to help complete the traditions (making pumpkins, the trick-or-treat bowl). Without Spooky Stuff, you can still complete the traditions using interactions that came with Seasons. - Sigzy_29New SpectatorI like to put up the spooky candy bowl outside, or at the entrance of my sim's apartments, and the sims just go and take candy from it. It's entertaining to see the various effects as sims take candy from it.
- Lyrie18Seasoned ObserverA thing you can do for your household kids and teens to simulate trick or treat (Requires Spooky Stuff ) is to throw a spooky party. invite sims try to make them YA+ and as your household child or teen click on the guest and it will say something like: 'ask for treat' somewhwere in the friendy menu.

*facepalmed myself* I forgot they said you’d have to create it yourself, I felt something was weird around fall seasons. Thanks for the help - I played with halloween for the first time today, but no kids came to my door even though I put that as a tradition. I've waited until 2am which is when the holiday ends to see if any would come but they didn't and the holiday ended. Is this a bug or do I have to do something for them to come to my door?
