How Do You Have Fun in The Sims 4?

If I'm not playing rotational play I use short life span options only. (for rotational I use normal life span so that I don't completely miss their lives while I'm away in another house) It makes everything more urgent and a lot less, "Watch them sleep, pee, eat, work, repeat" Also, I do a lot lot LOT of challenges. They've (challenges that is) caused me to find things in the game that I've never thought to try before to be quite entertaining like the collector aspiration which I wouldn't have attempted at all without a legacy or another challenge that causes you to try different things. I also make up back stories, and create life stories for my families. I don't tend to 'invent' story stuff for the life stories because I feel like if they wouldn't do it in game they probably wouldn't do it at all or like I'm doing something against their will which is probably an odd outlook but its how I feel.
