I mostly don't. But since I want story progression, what I do is every week or so of game time I'll pop out of playing my legacy family and note which sims have become teens so I can go in and fix their outfits and any really unfortunate genetic mishaps, and I'll make a list of sims that are young adult or older and single, and I'll pair some of them off.
