How do YOU keep track of your Sims?

Simple question (or maybe not). How do you keep track of your Sims, their achievements, their goals, their memories, their relationships, their stories?

Do you have spreadsheets?
Is your screenshot folder crammed? (If so, do you organize it and how??)
Do you have a forum thread? A blog?
Are there things out there I haven't heard or thought of?

Let me know!!!

  • I have never thought about keeping up with it. Lol. I have sooooo many saves, some of them with multiple households, but often I don't know what save it is until I open it. This is unfortunately how I tend to run my own life as well, so it makes sense...What is an appointment planner? Who records information in their phone? Am I not supposed to call a doctor's office multiple times to find out the date and time of the same appointment because I keep losing the random used envelope or torn notebook sheet that I wrote it down on? I'm in shambles, help.

I literally store it all in my mind.
  • I built my own online registry in addition to a spreadsheet and a huge directory of photos sorted by family and in-game year. In main spreadsheet each sim has one line, sorted by household and hood. I use it for many purposes, but one important thing is to plan what houses need my attention on my next rotation. I have columns for the next 4-5 yeas so I can easily plot when something might need my attention.

The registry and spreadsheet(s) cover both individual facts like simology, family trees and life lines +++, AND the community aspect of my game, including community overviews, political system, the large peerage and a huuge history book going all the way back to the Medieval era (TSM), heirlooms overview, and a newspaper that partly auto-updates based on the registry scripts. And tons more.

I know it's nerdy :) I like to say that if I'm offline, I can still play my game for weeks by updating and planning by looking around the registry and notes, and not actually running the game. Those notes have become a separate game, actually. I scripted it all by myself, so I add new features as needed.
  • Not likely. I have way too many households now because I use 9 of my 20 Worlds for each of my 5 different timeline Game Saves.
I think I have about 13 households in each of my Timeline Saves.
I’ve lost track on how much I have now.
It’s been a busy Sims 4 gaming these last 3 years.
I have updated from time to time & I try to make sure my saves are in my tray.
Also I love to share what I’ve built & my sims that I made in the Gallery.?
  • I keep rambling blogs in Word files. There’s one for each played family plus some other stat and info files.

I don't know how people do it. I have only the one save, currently, and with as many times I've had to restart due to various reasons, including Operator Malfunction, it's all I can do to retell the story with some, hopefully, new spin to it to keep things interesting. LOL

I didn't know keeping track of them in the ways people do was a thing. Interesting looking at this thread so far. I only have a few Sims spread across a few households. It's easy to keep track.

Love the quote! I love Noel Fielding. Hilarious dude.

I know, I was pretty surprised to see all of these different processes too. It's neat. I don't think I'll ever be that organized.
